Report: CEO: SJ-100 with Russian engine to fly in January 2024
MOSCOW, Dec 26 (PRIME) -- The first flight of the SJ-100 jet with the Russia made engine PD-8 is scheduled for the beginning of 2024, CEO of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Yury Slyusar told channel Rossiya 24 on Tuesday.
"The engines were already installed on our test jets, and as soon as we get the permit, I think we will carry out tests on land already this year, in the remaining days, and expect to carry out the first flight at the beginning of next year," Slyusar said.
The executive added that the idea of swapping the engines of the existing SJ-100 jets for Russia-made ones was discussed, and an economic feasibility study was yet to be made.
UAC fulfilled the state defense plan in 2023 and delivered everything timely, he said.
